US to leave Paris climate deal, but Michigan is moving rapidly toward clean, renewable energy

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters (MLCV) criticized President Trump’s decision to pull out of the landmark international Paris Climate Accord and pointed to the need for states, communities, and businesses to push forward.

Trump’s reckless decision to pull out of the Paris climate deal today makes the strong clean energy reforms passed last year by bipartisan leaders here in Michigan all the more significant,” said Lisa Wozniak, executive director of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters. “It will be up to states like Michigan, along with our local communities and responsible partners in the business community — like DTE Energy and Consumers Energy — to keep our country on track toward developing the clean, affordable, and reliable energy of tomorrow.”
