Michigan LCV statement on passing of Sen. Patty Birkholz

Lisa Wozniak, executive director of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters issued the following statement Fridayregarding the passing of former state senator and Michigan LCV West Michigan director Patty Birkholz:

“Throughout her life, Patty Birkholz was a steadfast champion for the Great Lakes and a tireless conservation advocate. Her bipartisan, pragmatic approach led to historic measures to safeguard clean water, enhance the use of clean energy, protect the Great Lakes from invasive species and beyond. Patty was a close friend to all of us at Michigan LCV and a truly instrumental leader for our organization. She will be deeply missed.”
