Michigan LCV: Gov. Whitmer leads on water, climate change

LANSING – The Michigan League of Conservation Voters today applauded Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for making clean water and climate change key focuses in her State of the State address.

“Gov. Whitmer clearly outlined the tremendous challenges we face in protecting our drinking water, the air we breathe and our public health – reaching out to the Legislature to join her in tackling these problems head-on,” said Lisa Wozniak, executive director of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters. “It’s refreshing to have a governor who is taking action on climate change and making drinking water a top priority. We need our elected leaders to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Governor to ensure all Michiganders have clean air and safe drinking water.”
