Meet the 2020 environmental champions
With so much on the line in the 2020 elections, we focused our resources on what has consistently proven to be one of the top issues for Michigan citizens, and even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic: access to clean, safe, and affordable drinking water.
Our endorsement process sought out candidates who are committed to protecting natural resources and public health, especially Michigan’s most precious resource: #OurWater. During this cycle, we endorsed 60 State House candidates, two Supreme Court candidates, and, for the first time, ten candidates running for the Oakland County Executive’s office and the Board of Commissioners that supports the 2020 Oakland County Climate, Jobs, and Justice Platform that will put Oakland County on the map as a leader on tackling climate change and protecting our water.
The Conservation Voters of Michigan PAC was one of the largest players in the state this year, spending more than $1 million dollars alone to elect conservation champions, as well engaging in six different Oakland County Commission races and the Michigan Supreme Court race.
