In 20 years, we aim to reverse the legacy of toxic pollution, which has had devastating impacts on human health and our climate, so that we can provide every Michigander access to the cleanest air and land, and safest, most affordable water in the nation. In order to accomplish these goals, we need to grow our team. We are hiring the following positions:

OPEN POSITIONS

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is seeking a full-time Development Director to foster a culture of philanthropy within our organization, direct strategies to develop stronger, more sustainable financial support across our family of organizations, deepen relationships with supporters across the state, and elevate Michigan LCV as a resource and an outlet for generous people interested in contributing to a mission that matters.

CAMPAIGNS DIRECTOR

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is seeking an experienced, full-time Campaigns Director to lead and direct our advocacy, electoral, lobbying, and public education programs. This role is designed to build power by electing people at the federal, state and municipal levels who will pass stronger laws to protect Michigan’s drinking water, Great Lakes, air, and democracy and address the climate crisis.

GRANTS MANAGER

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is seeking a dynamic full-time Grants Manager to raise financial support for our organization by managing all grant activity, building strong partnerships with current and prospective funders, and growing foundation funding.

STATE GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS MANAGER

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is seeking a full-time State Government Affairs Manager to develop policy positions for the organization, execute legislative and administrative advocacy, and build and manage relationships with partners, stakeholders, and decision-makers.

STATE GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COORDINATOR

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is seeking a full-time State Government Affairs Manager to support the development of policy positions for the organization, legislative and administrative advocacy, and the building of relationships with partners, stakeholders, and decision-makers.

STATE GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS FELLOW

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is seeking a long-term, part-time fellow to support the work of its State Government Affairs team with a focus on advancing land, air, water, and voting rights issues in Lansing and districts around the state.

ELECTIONS SYSTEMS ORGANIZER

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is seeking a full-time Elections Systems Organizer to build community power, especially through election official engagement and support of voting rights and election protection in Grand Rapids, Kentwood, and Wyoming. The Elections Systems Organizer will work alongside our Elections Systems Manager to support community engagement with local election officials as well as wider civic engagement initiatives.

WEST MICHIGAN ORGANIZER

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is seeking a West Michigan Organizer to help anchor our organizing work to run aggressive, focused campaigns that elect champions and hold elected officials accountable while in office.

VIRTUAL CANVASSER

Part-Time

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is seeking a team of part-time virtual canvassers to build power, presence, and relationships on behalf of our organization and to engage citizens to get involved in making the protection of Michigan’s land, air, and water a political priority.

OUR WATER ACTIVISTS

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters (MLCV) is seeking participants for the Our Water Activist Program through our Political and Outreach department. This is a three month training and engagement program that offers real-world organizing and training pertaining to protecting our environment through community and nonpartisan political engagement.

OUR BENEFITS PACKAGE

COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH BENEFITS

We provide quality health, dental and vision insurance for all full-time employees, effective on the employee’s first day. Michigan LCV pays for 100% of coverage for employees and 50% of the monthly premium cost for each spouse or dependent enrolled.

RETIREMENT PLAN

We maintain a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan and match contributions up to 3% of salary.

WINTER BREAK & PAID HOLIDAYS

Our offices are closed December 24 – January 1. Additionally, we offer 7 paid holidays throughout the course of the year.

PAID TIME OFF

3 weeks of paid time off in the first year of employment and 5 weeks every year thereafter for vacation, illness, or other personal time.

SABBATICAL PROGRAM

A paid 6-week sabbatical after working at Michigan LCV for 5 years.

PARENTAL LEAVE

14 weeks of parental leave, 6 weeks of which are fully-paid for bonding time with the child. Birthing parents may also use their short-term disability coverage for 5-7 weeks at 60% pay during their medical recovery period.

SHORT & LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE

Short-term and long-term disability insurance that is 100% funded by Michigan LCV and covers 60% of pay if an employee is ill or injured.
