Senator Wayne Schmidt introduces Senate Resolution to protect 30 percent of Michigan land and water by 2030

LANSING – The Michigan League of Conservation Voters today issued the following statement regarding Senate Resolution 72 introduced by Senator Wayne Schmidt (R-Traverse City) that sets to preserve 30 percent of Michigan’s air and water by 2030.

“Our  land, rivers, streams and lakes are part of our Michigan way of life; they are part of who we are, the foundation of our economy and our well-being. These critical assets must be protected,”  said Nick Occhipinti, government affairs director for the Michigan League of Conservation Voters. “We stand with Senator Wayne Schmidt in passing Senate Resolution 72 to protect 30% of our land and water in Michigan by 2030. Every Michigander, every property owner, and every level of government has a role to play as we work to protect our outdoor and natural heritage for our children and the generations to come.”
