Michigan LCV Endorses Lamonte, Conyers in 2016 General Election

ANN ARBOR — The Michigan League of Conservation Voters (Michigan LCV) issued General Election endorsements for Collene Lamonte in the 91st House District race and Ian Conyers  in the special election for 4th Senate District.

“During her time in Lansing, Representative Lamonte showed herself to be an important voice for conservation — notably, Rep. Lamonte fought hard to reinstate commonsense protections for Michigan’s vulnerable critical sand dunes,” said Lisa Wozniak, Executive Director of Michigan LCV. “In the Senate, we believe that Ian Conyers Jr. is well-positioned to promote public health safeguards and the protection of our natural resources and we look forward to working with him in 2017 and beyond.”

Michigan LCV has already endorsed 44 candidates for the 2016 General Election on both the Democratic and Republican side. A full list can be found at https://michiganlcv.org/elections/endorsements-4/.

“Our aggressive plan to help these 46 candidates reach victory in November is in full-swing,” said Jack Schmitt, Deputy Director of Michigan LCV. “We are committed to electing strong pro-conservation legislators who will prioritize protecting the health of our natural resources and the health of our communities.”
