At MLCV, our work involves collaboration with state leaders, impacted community members, volunteers, and other community leaders from all corners of the state. Every year, we honor and celebrate some of those leaders for their work to protect our land, air, water and public health at our annual gala, Equity & the Environment.
Join us this year as we recognize Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Assistant Secretary of State Heaster Wheeler for their work to enable historic voter turnout in Michigan in 2020 — despite the challenges of COVID-19 — and protecting all Michiganders’ right to vote; PFAS activists Tony Spaniola and Sandy Wynn-Stelt for their tireless advocacy on behalf of communities impacted by toxic PFAS chemicals; and Bay Mills Indian Community President Whitney Gravelle for her work on shutting down the Line 5 oil pipeline.
Traditionally held in the heart of the Motor City, this year’s event has been shifted to Zoom due to COVID-19.
Your ticket purchase and sponsorships will directly support our work to protect drinking water, public health, our democracy, and addressing the climate crisis in Detroit and across the great lakes state.
