Southeast Michigan Organizer
Shannon Ervin is a Southeast Michigan Organizer on the Outreach & Advocacy team. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Freshwater Science and Sustainability. While earning her degree, she became a student leader rallying peers and staff in an effort to hold the campus accountable to their environmental policies, initiating her involvement with political movements.
Since graduation she has been doing the groundwork, removing invasive species, planting trees in critical headwaters, and monitoring water quality/quantity in Michigan, New Mexico and New York. In every aspect of her work she has motivated volunteers to be involved in meaningful change; from the active grounds of music festivals and strategic plantings in critical landscapes, to globally engaged virtual activism platforms, Shannon seeks to engage and enable volunteers.
In her free time Shannon enjoys painting, sculpting and exploring nature.
Shannon’s favorite place in Michigan: Arcadia Dunes
