Michigan LCV urges House Energy Committee to approve Energy Freedom package

LANSING – The Michigan League of Conservation Voters (MLCV) today urged the House Energy Policy Committee to vote “yes” on the Energy Freedom Package –HB 5861-5865– and move the legislation to the full House of Representatives for a vote.

“The Energy Freedom package is modern, bipartisan legislation that will remove barriers to generating clean energy, provide a big boost to solar energy and help Michigan families and businesses save money on their power bills,” said Nicholas Occhipinti, Government Affairs Director at Michigan LCV. “On the heels of last week’s announcement that 50 percent of the energy produced by our utilities will come from clean and efficient sources, lawmakers should build on this momentum and pass the Energy Freedom Package without delay.”
