Michigan LCV Statement on House Committee on Regulatory Reform

ANN ARBOR – Today, the House Committee on Regulatory Reform, chaired by State Representative Ray Franz (R Onekama), stalled action on House Bill 4246 the “no stricter than federal” bill. Between yesterday and today’s meeting, Michigan LCV members delivered 560 messages in opposition to the legislation directly to committee members. Michigan LCV’s Executive Director Lisa Wozniak released the following statement on today’s meeting:

“Whether it’s repealing our state’s incredibly successful and widely supported renewable energy standard or taking up legislation that was previously vetoed by the Governor, Representative Franz continues to pursue an unconventional approach to legislating. We are pleased that he came to his senses on the proposed ‘no stricter than federal’ plan today and stalled any action on the bill. We will continue to call for this legislation to be stopped entirely.”
