LANSING – Jack Schmitt, deputy director of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, today called the Michigan Public Service Commission’s annual report on the renewable energy standard a call to action:

“The report released today by the Michigan Public Service Commission shows the cost of renewable energy in Michigan continues to decline. But today’s report also shows that investment in renewable energy has leveled off. Without action by the Legislature, investment in our clean energy sector will come to a halt, jeopardizing job growth and ensuring higher costs for ratepayers.”

According to the MPSC, investment in renewable energy leveled off at $2.9 billion in 2014. This year’s report shows no increase in total investment over 2014 data.
