Michigan LCV applauds solar tax laws signed by Gov. Whitmer

LANSING – The Michigan League of Conservation Voters applauded legislation signed into law today by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer removing barriers for Michiganders who want to install rooftop solar panels and generate their own electricity.

On Thursday, Gov. Whitmer signed HB 4465, HB 4069 and SB 47.

“Renewable energy like solar lowers electricity costs for consumers while promoting cleaner air and water,” said Nicholas Occhipinti, government affairs director for Michigan League of Conservation Voters. “These new laws fix a confusing patchwork of local tax structures for rooftop solar, and we thank Gov. Whitmer for her leadership on working to ensure clean, renewable energy is more accessible to Michiganders.”
