Michigan LCV applauds MI Power Grid Initiative

LANSING – The Michigan League of Conservation Voters today issued the following statement applauding a new program announced by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Public Service Commission called the MI Power Grid initiative, which will focus on outreach, education and changes to utility regulation to pave the way for Michigan’s clean energy future.

“We are pleased to see Gov. Whitmer and the Michigan Public Service Commission working together to increase access to affordable, clean energy and educate ratepayers about the clean energy opportunities available to them,” said Nicholas Occhipinti, government affairs director for the Michigan League of Conservation Voters. “Tackling climate change and protecting our air and water depend on adopting cleaner and more affordable alternatives to fossil fuels and updating our infrastructure to better support renewable energy like wind and solar.”
