Michigan LCV statement on federal PFAS hearing in Grand Rapids

LANSING – The Michigan League of Conservation Voters (Michigan LCV) issued the following statement regarding a federal hearing being held today in Grand Rapids on the government’s response to the PFAS water crisis that is impacting communities across Michigan.

“Make no mistake about it: this is a real and growing crisis that is impacting our water, wildlife, all aspects of our Michigan economy and threatening the health of millions,” said Lisa Wozniak, executive director of Michigan LCV. “This is not simply an ‘environmental issue,’ but rather a public health emergency that demands immediate action from all levels of government. Our lawmakers can take the first step now by passing a robust, enforceable drinking water standard for PFAS.”
