Democracy Wins: Michigan Voters Prevail

DETROIT — Today All Voting is Local Michigan, ACLU of Michigan, and Michigan League of Conservation Voters Education Fund issued the following statement in response to the Board of State Canvassers certification of the results of the general election:

“Michigan voted in historic numbers despite a pandemic. We mobilized quickly to protect our democracy, ensuring that every voter had the opportunity to cast their ballot safely and securely. And today the people of Michigan once again made ourselves heard loud and clear: The outcome of the election has been decided. Honor our votes.

“We applaud the people of Michigan for their tireless efforts to collectively reject chaos and spite, amid unprecedented circumstances. With each of these fruitless attempts to sow distrust in our electoral system, particularly in Detroit, the people of Michigan have emerged stronger and more prepared to defend our values than ever before. 

“We are glad the Board of State Canvassers did their duty to certify the results, so that we can move forward together to tackle the many issues facing our communities.”
