Michigan LCV applauds 100 percent clean energy legislation

LANSING – The Michigan League of Conservation Voters today applauded House Bill 6466, legislation sponsored by Representative Yousef Rabhi (D-Ann Arbor) that would increase Michigan’s renewable energy standard to 100 percent by 2050.

“Increasing our use of clean, renewable energy is a critical step for reducing dangerous air pollution, addressing climate change and protecting our Great Lakes from toxic chemicals like mercury,” said Lisa Wozniak, executive director of Michigan LCV. “We applaud Rep. Rabhi for introducing this important legislation that will help make Michigan a leader on clean energy, and urge lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to continue the forward, bipartisan momentum toward making Michigan a clean energy leader by supporting this legislation.”

The League of Conservation Voters is currently engaged in a campaign to reject dirty fossil fuels and embrace clean energy by holding states accountable for transitioning to 100 percent clean energy. For more information about the campaign, click here.
