Michigan LCV applauds state for holding line against conflicts of interest, urges state to shut down Line 5
Following revelations of conflicts of interest, State of Michigan fires firm working on risk analysis of pipeline
The Michigan League of Conservation Voters applauded the State for moving swiftly to terminate its contract with risk assessment firm DNV GL, following revelations that its employee had violated conflict of interest requirement.
Michigan LCV is glad the State is holding the line against conflicts of interest in this essential report, but too much is riding on this to go back to square one,” said Lisa Wozniak, executive director of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters. “The prudent course of action is to shut Line 5 down until it is proven safe. How many more reports of corroded pipes and missing supports do we need before our leaders take decisive action to prevent a disaster?”
