Meet the Staff

Lisa Wozniak – Executive Director

Lisa comes to the Michigan League of Conservation Voters with a long history in both the environmental and political worlds. Most recently, Lisa served as the Great Lakes Regional Director for the national League of Conservation Voters, overseeing programs and projects in Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio and Wisconsin between 1996 and early 2005.

Prior to that, Lisa worked on both the Lana Pollack for U.S. Senate Campaign and the Alma Wheeler Smith for State Senate Campaign in 1994, and worked briefly in the publishing world on a start-up statewide Michigan magazine covering politics, culture and current events in 1995-1996.

Lisa earned an undergraduate degree in French and History of Art and two Masters degrees (in Education and Social Work) from the University of Michigan.

Pam Bierzynski – Office and Special Projects Manager

Pam's interest in the Michigan League of Conservation Voters and its mission can be traced back to her roots in the Environmental Club in high school and college. Later at Aquinas College, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Geography and focused on sociological issues.

Prior to joining Michigan LCV's staff, Pam worked as an Associate Financial Representative for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. Pam has been the recipient of numerous academic and athletic awards. As an alumna at Detroit Country Day School, she coached the varsity and junior varsity women's basketball team. Today, Pam is an avid runner and just completed her first Marathon in San Francisco.

Abby Rubley – Policy Director

Abby was born and raised in Montague, Michigan, on the shores of Lake Michigan. She attended Michigan State University for both her undergraduate and graduate work, where she focused on Agriculture and Natural Resource Public Policy and Communications.

Abby has broad experience in the political arena as well as grassroots organizing, having previously worked as a legislative aide in Michigan and as a community organizer in stopping factory farms in the Midwest. More recently, she served as the Field Director for Environment Michigan.

Bill Kirk - West Michigan Field Director

Bill was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and attended Michigan State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Advertising.  During his studies at MSU he interned in Washington, D.C., with Edelman, an international public relations firm, where he worked primarily in the area of public affairs.

Bill has worked on various campaigns in Michigan, both local and statewide, always with a focus on supporting candidates who place high priority on environmental values.  Among other things, he works to coordinate and support the incredible progress that has been made in West Michigan in the areas of conservation, environmental protection, and green building and development.
