Michigan LCV statement on Governor Snyder’s “Renew Michigan” recycling proposal

LANSING – Lisa Wozniak, executive director of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters issued the following statement in response to Governor Rick Snyder’s “Renew Michigan” recycling proposal announced today:

Governor Snyder’s ‘Renew Michigan’ proposal is a step in the right direction toward reducing waste that goes in landfills, cleaning up toxic waste sites and protecting the health of Michigan families. Communities across Michigan are grappling with contaminated drinking water caused by dumping of toxic chemicals. We call on the Michigan Legislature to support this proposal and look forward to working with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to reduce waste and protect our water.”
