Michigan LCV's Kerry Duggan on LCV Lobby Day in DC
Last Wednesday, June 3rd, members of the League of Conservation Voters and its state allies from Michigan and across the country met with the members and staff from 21 Senate offices and 73 House offices on Capitol Hill to support the American Clean Energy and Security Act (ACES).
“Today, we discovered powerful Congressional support for strengthening and passing this clean energy bill,” LCV President Gene Karpinski said. “Significant majorities of the House and Senate know that it will help create jobs for millions of their constituents, will improve the security of our country, and will protect our planet from the threat of climate change. The House and the Senate should pass this bill and send it to the President this year.”
Kerry Duggan of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters met with Representatives Dingell, Peters, Schauer, and Conyers and with the offices of Senator Stabenow, Representative Ehlers and Representative Levin.
“The workers of Michigan are uniquely positioned to build a clean energy economy for America,” Duggan said. “ Today, we made sure that Michigan’s representatives know that every day we wait to pass this bill is another day of unemployment for thousands of Michigan workers.”
