southeast Michigan Regional Coordinator

Aiko is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelors of Science in the field of Cultural Anthropology, and since college has developed a deep commitment to increasing Michigan residents’ accessibility to clean and safe resources such as air and water. They are also strongly committed to improving and protecting Michigan’s natural resources. In the past few years, Aiko has focused on working with residents and organizations to grow knowledge around environmental issues affecting Michigan residents, and improve air quality in the city.

When Aiko is not working, they love spending their time dancing at music shows, assisting friends on completing renovations to historic homes, writing creative and non-fiction pieces for fun, and paying way too much attention to their cat, Franklin. Aiko joins our Political and Outreach Team as a Southeast Michigan Regional Coordinator based in Detroit.

Aiko’s Favorite places in Michigan: Nichols Arboretum and Belle Isle.
